Lost!
Debabrata Pattrea

There have been times when lying on a couch
Of thoughts, I've pondered long and lone.
And I've wandered in realms of darkness,
Rummaging every nook I have known.
I've pondered on the endless desires,
And quests of the inflated "ME."
I've pondered on the aims we have cherished,
And what it means to be free.
I've pondered on this awesome creation
And its infinite immensity,
I've pondered on our relative smallness,
Even in the sea of humanity.
I only find myself in a sea of confusion,
Where to keep afloat ,at different times:
I've needed bladders of different kinds;
Bladders of love, religion, philosophy and  science.
But not for long would they support me,
When pins of doubt would deflate them,
And I would be left struggling again,
In search of a bladder of another name.
